Ruki’s Journals #1: November 5, 2009

in Ramblings, Ruki's Journals

I’m back, my new and old, stalking friends. Me and my friend went through the could-have-been-snow (but was not) rain from the Japanese book store Sun Ai to the games and computer machinery store thingy Webhallen (lit. The Web Hall) to SF Bokhandeln (lit. The SF Bookstore, where the “SF” stand for “science fiction,” although the store has got lots of manga as well – which is the only reason I ever ventured there in the first place) before we took the very crowded bus home, talking about hentai… Don’t ask. (It’s not as weird as it sounds, honestly!)

So, first we went to the Japanese book store, or so they call themselves, Sun Ai where my friend got two packs (tch, that’s weak!) of strawberry Pocky and two very perverted poster magazines. Yeah… I, however, got ten – count them, ten – packs of strawberry Pocky, a pack of… milk Pocky (for a Japanese candy review I’m making), some other candies (one other variety Pocky) and the first issue of よつばと! (known as Yotsuba&! outside Japan).

Webhallen was the next stop and when we got there it was as non-welcoming as always with its large, brightly lit storage facility look, but we got what we came for (or what I came for, Joakim didn’t really care – that’s my friend, I guess you could call him…): the PlayStation 3 “Game of the Year” edition of Fallout 3 (which I already have for PC, but I wanted to do some console FPS-ing, or RPS-ing – “Role-Playing Shooter,” a combination of FPS (First-Person Shooter) and RPG (Role-Playing Game)) and the strategic – I think – RPG  Cross Edge (aka X Edge) collaboratively developed by Capcom, Nippon Ichi, Namco Bandai, Gust, and Idea Factory containing characters from six of their different games! Sweet.

Our final destination (actually that’s not true – our final destination was my place of course – and his would be his own in a few hours) was SF Bokhandeln where I got a copy of Rumiko Takahashi’s new manga RIN-NE (境界のRINNE) which I have yet to even open – I’m very excited though! They had some One Piece Nendoroids for not too much, but I had a feeling they were not authentic – they may have been though, I don’t know. I already have enough Nendoroids to go around, and a PVC and some weird little figure, so I’m okay. No, really; I’m okay!

Now we’re home (my home) and I’m writing this as Joakim looks through my stuff… Anyway, I’ll see you again – very soon!
